Find the one thing you LOVE more than anything and do it every chance you get. I used to tell people to follow their passion. Having learned much more about language I have come to learn that passions are idealistic in that they are one sided perceptions that involve pleasure without pain. Having lived a little I have since changed my language to follow your INSPIRATION 
. What you're inspired to do/love to do means that you're willing to embrace both the pleasure and pain in the pursuit. This distinction is important in that when one is simply chasing an emotional high (this coming from an adrenaline junkie), that it's easy to get "out of whack" emotionally when things aren't going so well. In embracing both sides and learning how they serve it's easier to maintain a balanced perception of the world and not get caught in the rollercoaster of emotions as much. Not that the ride is bad or good but understanding how the ride works will allow a much more fulfilling experience...
Anyways I believe we all have a unique purpose on this planet. It doesn't have to be some grand mission. We all play our part perfectly in a much bigger picture. When you find that “one thing” that just feels right, like you were put here to do it, nothing else seems to matter. Those meaningless jobs or difficult decisions aren’t so bad anymore. Everything in life is just a means to an end. The pleasure and the pain are all justified in knowing that they serve a grater purpose. I chase waves around the world. I love my life, but there are great sacrifices I must often make. All it takes for me is locking into one tropical tube; and for that moment nothing else matters. When times are tough I know that there’s a light at the end, and that those tough times are all part of the journey guiding me back to my true love.
